Planet Hulk – Marvel Comics

Of course, Thor is a Marvel character created by Stan Lee and Larry Leiber with illustrations by Jack Kirby and debuting in Journey into Mystery #83 in August 1962.

However, the inspiration for Thor: Ragnarok comes from the Planet Hulk storyline from The Incredible Hulk comics. This storyline ran from April 2006 – June 2007 where Hulk is exiled by the Illuminati to the planet Saakar, conquers the planet and tries to get back to Earth to get revenge.

Hulk is a central character in Thor: Ragnarok and the story is taken from this series of comics.

Thor: Ragnarok received lots of critical praise upon it’s release with critics praising the storyline, the actor’s performances, the soundtrack and the humor.
