Maggie’s Plan is a romantic comedy that isn’t exactly based on a published novel.
The original story that writer Rebecca Miller adapted for Maggie’s plan is an unpublished novel that her friend Karen Rinaldi was working on.
Rinaldi and Miller happened to be friends and while having a talk about what Miller was going to be working on next, Rinaldi decided to tell her about the story that ended up being made into Maggie’s Plan.
Miller liked the story and Rinaldi told her that she could have it.
Maggie’s Plan (The Movie)
Maggie’s Plan stars Greta Gerwig as Maggie, Ethan Hawke as John and Julianne Moore as Georgette, the three main characters in the story.
Maggie, a young, independent single mom, falls in love with John who happens to be unhappily married to Georgette.
John and Maggie ends up getting married but John turns out to be somewhat of a bore to Maggie who finds herself falling out of love with him.
She then has a plan – to reunite John with his ex-wife.
The movie was released on the 20th May 2016.
